Currently in Curry world: 01/29/2012
The squirrel tail is coming along swimmingly. Just a little more work, and the prototype should be done. Also working on a red panda commission: the tail is finished and the head should be done near the end of February. In other news, the shop has been taken off of ArtFire and moved to Etsy. There are currently only 6 items (ears and tails) in the shop, but I'm working on building up inventory. Also, I will soon be adding other accessory items such as leg warmers, wrist cuffs and collars, as well as latex prosthetics such as wounds and horns. Add Comment Squirrel tail 01/09/2012
So I've been commissioned to do a squirrel tail and ear set, and she wants the tail to stand up. The first prototype was a miserable failure, but I already knew half-way through that it would be. Needed to be much wider to look like a squirrel (ended up looking like a cat) & needs a better base. Currently working on the 2nd one - should turn out much better. I may post a pic of the first for opinions. Mini-Curry has joined the world! 11/19/2011
Yes, we have given birth to our new daughter, Erin. She was born on the 14th and we just got home last night. Already started back on commissions today. Haha. First night was a little rough, but we seem to already have a good rhythm going for taking care of her. It helps that she sleeps half the day. Update on stuff! 08/02/2011
Man, I'm really lagging in keeping this thing updated. Luckily, no one seems to mind (or care?). Anyway, commissions are picking up. A couple of finished things can be found in teh accessories gallery. And soon, there will actually be a commission picture under "partials"! Whoo! It's a blue/white husky that's being worked on - WIPs can be found here. Also, I'm now offering commissions for key-ring tails, as well (pics of those also found in the accessories gallery). Unlike other commissions, these guys have a pretty set price: $10 for 1 or 2 colors, $15 for 3 or 4. They'll all be around 2" wide and 6-8" long. One more thing! The C.C. (Carnaval Cat) partial is officially up for sale. See the shop for details on that. Okay, I think that's everything. Take care everyone! It's a girl! 07/03/2011
Found out the lil parasite growing in my tummy is a girl. And her pictures don't show her as a weird little jellybean anymore - it actually looks mostly human, so that's pretty cool. Cut one of my routes at work, so I'll have more time to work on projects I've been meaning to finish. I've started using that time (which started this past week) to work on my first set of digitigrade legs and hooves, and get back to work on the blue mouse partial and Sabre's suit. WIP shots of all can be found here. Honeymoon 06/04/2011
was AWESOME! We ended up renting a cabin up near Gatlinburg, TN. Cabin was cozy, view was gorgeous, & the tourist-trap towns nearby had some fun stuff to check out. Got to go to an aquarium for the first time in my life, as well as my first haunted house. While we were at it, we also stopped in the Ripley's "Odditorium" museum. Pretty groovy stuff! But now (sadly) we're back home, & it's time to get back to work. Plans from here? More pre-made ear/tail sets for the shop, hoping for commissions to pick up, gotta finish those two suits, & of course, keep up with my actual job. Not to mention, getting ready for the baby! :3 Baby!!! 05/06/2011
Well, it's been a while since I've posted. You can blame that on the CRAZY month it's been! Thanks to the Easter holiday coming so late, those of us employed by card companies have been working double-time to get as many Mother's Day cards out as possible. Then of course, next week we'll be changing out Mother's Day cards for Father's Day. Whee! But now for the BIG news! Sabre & I were married at the courthouse last week. And on top of that, as many of you know, we're expecting a baby mid-November! You can check my Facebook to keep tabs on the baby (pictures, etc). I tell ya, pregnancy's taken it's toll, but I'll be starting the 2nd trimester soon, so it should get much better. But still, that being said, a lot of things have been put on hold (say, for instance, everything), but hopefully I should be able to get back to projects after next week. Will be focusing on the dog suit & a set of banners I promised someone a while back. Phew! 04/13/2011
Well, all commission items have been finished & shipped (or delivered). Commissions are back open for a little while, but are being limited to ears & tails as I simply don't have time for larger items such as paws and heads. Also up for commission are paw pads. See the price guide for that. So what have I been up to the past few months? Being pregnant it seems! That's right, Curry's gonna be a mommy! Oh yes, and on top of the dog suit I've been working on, I've also started a blue mouse partial which you can see WIP pictures of here. Aside from that, things have been pretty same ol' same ol'. Just another update for commissioners: The fox paws are coming, slowly, but surely. You can see WIP pics of them here & here. Rapidly running out of short black fur, so I'm now also waiting for more to come in. White tiger is in about the same place it has been. Leg still needs to be sewn on (which will take all of 30 minutes), and after that it's just waiting for the paw pads. The mold for the paw pads is in place & setting. Hopefully it'll be dry & usable soon. Seems to be taking longer than it should to dry, but ah well. Commissions aside, I've still been working occasionally on my 'secret' suit, and finally have WIP pics of him up! Feel free to leave comments & guess what he is! The Shop... 02/09/2011
...has moved! To ArtFire.com! The page for the shop is still there (& you can still buy arm warmers from this site) and has a link to the ArtFire shop. As far as commissions go... I may be pushing back the opening date. It may even be spring before I can open up commissions again. On the upside, the white tiger just has a couple things left before it's done, and the black fox paws are coming along nicely. Also, the Flareon set for the winner of the FurBuy auction is finished - picture is in the gallery. |
